"Of the Community" - A Community Living Documentary and Discussion about Nationally Recognized Quality Measures for Supporting the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Community
Come watch a 28-minute documentary that explores what it means for eight individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to not only be integrated into their communities but welcomed and valued as members of their communities.

After the film, Val Bradley (President Emerita of Human Services Research Institute) and Olivia Sullivan (Elsevier/DirectCourse) will hold a 25-minute live presentation/discussion of federally recognized quality measurements specifically for the field of direct support.

We have a short time for Q and A, however, we can answer questions live during the presentation as they come up in the chat and we could stay on for 10 minutes after the session if needed.

Takeaways:

• See first-person video stories of direct supports that lead to people becoming "of
their community".

• Learn about and receive resources on 3-sets of nationally recognized quality
measures for supporting higher service outcomes in the IDD community:

• National Core Indicators – www.nationalcoreindicators.org

• Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) Core Competencies for Direct Service
Workers

• National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) E-Badge Credentials

• Get a quick intro to College of Direct Support online DSP training, its alignment with
CMS and NADSP and how it develops competencies, approaches and service culture
shifts that can boost personal outcomes as referenced in NCI.
